A coordination meeting was held at the headquarters of the Union of Arab Chambers, which included the Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, Professor Adam Al-Dukhairi, accompanied by a delegation from the organization, the President of the Arab Federation for Food Industries, Dr. Haitham Al-Jaffan, accompanied by the Vice-President, Mr. George Nasraoui, a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture in Lebanon, Mr. Hussein Nasrallah, and a delegation from the Lebanese Fund for Development, represented by Messrs. Khalil Barakat and Imad Hamdan, and the Director of the Arab Chambers and the Joint Arab and Foreign Chambers in the Union of Arab Chambers, Huda Kachtan.
During the meeting, they discussed and coordinated cooperation during the coming period, in light of the establishment of the Arab Center for Agricultural Entrepreneurship. The attendees took note of the hosting of the "Technology Committee of the Arab Center for Entrepreneurship" by the Union of Arab Banks, provided that the Union of Arab Chambers hosts the entrepreneurship program and training courses organized by the center at its headquarters. Coordination will be made with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Tripoli and the North to complete the practical part of the courses in the chamber, as it has laboratories for the food industries, and an important center for supporting innovation and entrepreneurs, which enhances integration between the private sector and joint Arab action organizations.
The Arab Center for Entrepreneurship will carry out the training, qualification, and application process, and will organize annually a competition for entrepreneurs in the agricultural and food industries, in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers, within the “Arab Rally for Entrepreneurship and Innovation” organized by the Union with the Arab Regional Center for Training and Development of Entrepreneurs and Investment of the United Nations Development Organization (UNIDO), in addition to organizing an exhibition of food and agricultural products during this event, to be widely promoted, which attracts financiers from Arab businessmen as well as from Arab financial institutions.
