UAE is the 1st in the Arab World in the Global Competitiveness Report 2022

For the sixth year in a row, the United Arab Emirates topped the countries in the Middle East and North Africa region, in the annual Global Competitiveness Report 2022, issued by the Global Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Management Development in the Swiss city of Lausanne.

The UAE maintained its leadership in first place regionally in the general ranking and 12th globally, ahead of countries such as: Luxembourg, Canada, Germany, China, Austria, Australia, Belgium, United Kingdom, France, Japan, thus, the UAE remains the only Arab country to lead the region for six consecutive years.

According to the report’s results, the UAE ranked first globally in 19 indicators, while it ranked among the top five globally in 62 indicators, and among the top ten globally in 100 indicators, out of a total of 334 indicators covered by the report this year. The Global Competitiveness Yearbook report is based on four main axes (economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency, and infrastructure), under which 20 sub-axes fall, covering 334 competitive indicators in various economic, financial, legislative, administrative and social fields. The country scored a distinguished performance in the main axes of the report, as it ranked 3 globally in the axis of government efficiency, and 6th globally in the axis of economic performance.
