The Union of Arab Chambers (UAC) participated in the "First Arab Forum for Equality", which was held in Amman of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on May 30 - 31, 2022, in which the "Josour" initiative was launched. “Josour” aims to provide job opportunities for young people in the Arab region. ESCWA initiative is in partnership with Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, the Union of Arab Banks and the Union of Arab Chambers, and a wide range of partners from the private sector and non-governmental institutions in the Arab region.
The Forum was organized by ESCWA and the Pathfinders Group hosted by the Center for International Cooperation at New York University. It was held under the slogan “Towards inclusive employment for young men and women in the Arab region”. It aimed to launch a multi-stakeholder dialogue with global and Arab leaders and experts on inequality and exclusion in the region & discuss practical policy solutions for tackling inequality and exclusion, with a focus on youth unemployment as one driver of multifaceted inequality in the Arab region.
The UAC joined Escwa & partners in “Josour” initiative as part of its continuous efforts & initiatives to create job opportunities for young men and women and unemployed graduates in the Arab countries. UAC is devoted to support the Arab youth and help them achieve their ambitions by combining business owners with job-seeking skills, or by providing them with services that improve their employability, such as facilitating their participation in online skills development programs & facilitating training for suitable jobs.
