President Teodoro Ambasogo invites Qatari Businessmen to Invest in Equatorial Guinea

The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Ambasogo, called on Qatari businessmen to "invest in Guinea and establish joint companies with Guinean companies."

The President of Equatorial Guinea met with members of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a group of Qatari businessmen, and discussed ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation relations, and the role of the private sector in promoting investments and trade exchanges between the two countries.

Ambasogo praised relations with Qatar, noting that "Guinea depends a lot on oil production, but it also has other important sectors such as agriculture, as there are large areas that can be exploited in food security projects." He pointed out that "there are many investment opportunities that Qatari businessmen can exploit, especially in the field of fishing, which is a very promising sector."

For his part, the First Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, Mohammed Bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, expressed the importance of exploring new horizons to enhance cooperation and partnership, and open the way for Qatari investors to get acquainted with the promising investment opportunities that Equatorial Guinea has. He pointed out that “there is a common interest in strengthening cooperation ties between the two countries after signing a joint statement to establish diplomatic relations, which comes within the framework of Qatar’s endeavor and keenness to open up more to African countries and increase its investments in the continent, which is full of investment opportunities.”
