Qatar achieved a surplus of 9.1 billion riyals ($ 2.5 billion) in its trade balance last November, recording an increase of 28.6 percent compared to the previous month, but it declined on an annual basis by about 27.4 percent due to the decline in exports.

According to the Government Planning and Statistics Authority, the total value of Qatari exports, including exports of local goods and re-exports, last month reached 16.6 billion riyals. That is, an increase of 8.3 percent compared to the month of October, and a decrease of 25.1 percent compared to the same month of 2019.

The value of merchandise imports decreased to reach about 7.5 billion riyals, a decline of 8.9 percent on a monthly basis and about 22.1 percent on an annual basis. Compared to November 2019, the value of exports of oil gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons, which represent liquefied natural gas, condensate, propane, butane, and others, decreased by 32.2 percent to reach about 9.5 billion riyals.

Japan ranked first in the destination countries in terms of Qatar's exports, with about 3 billion riyals, or 18% of the total value of exports, followed by China with 2.7 billion riyals, 16.5%, and South Korea, about 2.3 billion riyals, or 13.9% of total exports.
