The president of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Ajlan Al-Ajlan, affirmed that "the nomination of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the advisor in the royal court, Mohammed bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, to undertake the position of director general of the World Trade Organization, comes in the interest of developing the organization's work and advancing it to new horizons to achieve its strategic goals and solve the challenges and obstacles facing it, which reflects positively on the growth of the global economy."

Al Ajlan stressed that "Saudi Arabia deserves to take responsibility of this important position because of its great efforts in supporting the global economy, especially in light of its current presidency of the G20 summit," considering that the nomination reflects the strength and durability of the Saudi economy that enabled it to overcome the economic global crises, including the new Corona pandemic."

Al Ajlan notes that “the indication of Saudi Arabia’s entitlement to the international position is due to the advanced ranks it recently achieved among the countries of the world, as the Kingdom advanced during the current year from the 26th to the 24th place in the Global Competitiveness Report out of 63 countries that are most competitive,” considering that “the Kingdom's economic and political weight will enhance the position of Al-Tuwaijri to run for office, especially as he has a record of practical experience, as he held many positions that would qualify him to lead the position efficiently.
