The United Arab Emirates ranked first in the Arab world and the tenth globally in the global e-commerce confidence index issued by the magazine "CIO World" for the year 2020. The UAE achieved 76.1 points on the general index for classification, while it achieved 94.54 points in the standard of security and digital privacy, and 94.49 points in the government policy standard supporting e-commerce, 68.3 points in the market potential benchmark, 63.07 points in the institutional framework and innovation standard, and 60.12 points in the skilled workforce and entrepreneurship.
In turn, the United States ranked first globally, followed by China in the second place, then Japan in third place.
In addition, the UAE ranked first in the region, and third in the world after China and India, on the "Agility Logistics" index for emerging markets 2020.
For the first time, since the launch of the index, the UAE was ranked in the top 10 countries in all three sub-indices. This jump in classification is the result of the continued openness of the financial sector, transparent organizational structure and anti-corruption frameworks, as well as the comprehensive national strategy for SME development.
