The Arab Republic of Egypt advanced 6 centers in the Doing Business 2020 report and simplified procedures in four areas: Establishing companies where Egypt advanced 19 ranks in the world, and in the access to electricity index about 19 ranks, and advanced in the index of protection of small investors about 15 positions. It also advanced 3 places in the tax reimbursement index from last year and Egypt is expected to progress in this index in light of the reforms undertaken by Egypt in this index during the last quarter of 2018.
In this context, the Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr pointed out that "Egypt came among the 25 most countries in the world in terms of the number of reforms in this year's report 2020, which reflects the sustainability of the government's commitment to improve the investment climate and simplify procedures for investors, especially that Egypt ranked first in attracting investments at the level of Africa," stressing that "Egypt continues in the program of economic reform and investment climate improvement."
