The World Bank has announced efforts to attract foreign aid to Sudan through the Donor Support Fund. The Sudanese Ministry of Finance revealed that the Bank is ready to provide assistance to Sudan in accordance with the priorities of its government and directives.
Carolyn Turk, the World Bank's Regional Director, expressed the Bank's readiness to help Sudan benefit from the experiences of similar countries in the areas of development and service development.
In this context, the Sudanese Minister of Finance Ibrahim al-Badawi, pointed to "the Sudanese government's interest in macroeconomic reform programs, and the pursuit of the implementation of an emergency and reform program during the current phase, aimed at developing the capabilities of the economy."
Al Badawi explained that "the priorities of the stage are to alleviate the burden of living and reduce poverty, address unemployment and create jobs for youth, and the transition from support for humanitarian aid to support development aid in areas affected by war and conflict."
