The Higher Committee for Arab Joint Action will hold its 48th session at the headquarters of the Union of Arab Chambers in Beirut during the period 19-20 June, for the first time in the history of the Union, confirming the prominent role it plays as the true representative of the Arab private sector within the Joint Arab Action System.
The committee's work aims at enhancing the cooperation and coordination between the Arab joint labor institutions and finding a binding mechanism for cooperation between these institutions in order to achieve greater harmony among them. This mechanism aims to improve the performance of the Arab joint labor organizations to become more effective at the national, regional and Arab levels, as well as consolidating the foundations and decisions that govern their work and providing the requirements of their effectiveness in their fields of specialization, and to move the Arab organizations from coordinating their activities to the stage of joint action of implementing vital projects in the Arab region.
The first day will include the technical committee meeting headed by the Assistant Secretary General - Head of the Economic Sector at the League of Arab States, HE Dr. Kamal Hassan Ali, who will deliver a speech at the opening of the session. There will be also a speech for Dr. Khaled Hanafy, the Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers, and H.E. Mohamed Khair, the Commissioned Minister and the Director of Arab organizations and unions.
H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League will attend the second day, and will inaugurate the 48th session of the Higher Coordination Committee of Joint Arab Action with an important speech. The theme of this year's session will be "The Role of Arab Labor Institutions in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals 2030 In the Arab region." The Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafy, and the Assistant Secretary General Dr. Kamal Hassan Ali will also have their own speeches for this day.
The 48th session of the Commission will include a significant presence and participation of influential Arab institutions and organizations in the joint Arab action system, in addition to the important participation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). It is worth noting that there will be B2B meetings on the sidelines of the session, between UAC and a number of Arab and international organizations, foremost of which is "UNIDO", with a view to discussing ways of enhancing the joint cooperation in the coming stage.
