World Bank Group Praises Egypt's Efforts in Fighting Corruption & Governance

The World Bank commended the Egyptian efforts in the fight against corruption, governance, the eradication of terrorism and the economic and social reform program, which contributed to increasing the rate of growth and injecting new investments.

Kristalina Georgieva, the first Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank, praised during her meeting with an Egyptian delegation headed by the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr, the legislative and executive reforms taken by Egypt in combating the corruption and governance.

Georgieva affirmed its support to Egypt in the fight against corruption and the implementation of good governance which is the foundation in all aspects of development, stressing that the provision of public services of good quality and the creation of conditions that encourage enterprises to provide employment are the cornerstones in building opportunities and achieving prosperity for all, pointing out to the Bank's keenness to improve the relations with Egypt in various fields, especially in the fields of ​​governance, fighting corruption, money laundering, small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurship, education, using the latest systems in the large data project and supporting the decision-making units.

For his part, the Egyptian delegation pointed out that the state bodies prioritize the implementation of the directives of Mr. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Egyptian President in working to prevent corruption before it occurs and to combat money laundering and the elimination of terrorism in the framework of working to strengthen the state institutions and improve their role and maximize their benefit. Adding to that, its contribution to the stage of the political, economic and social construction witnessed by the Egyptian state, which requires intensifying the efforts and hard work in accordance with the highest levels of efficiency and integrity.
