Dr. Sami Al Obaidy, the President of the Council of Saudi Chambers, chaired the 99th meeting of the Council Board of Directors which was hosted by Arar Chamber of Commerce, in the presence of the Council Secretary General Dr. Saud Al-Mashari, and heads and representatives of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce.
During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed to enhance the role of the private sector in the economic and social development. They also discussed the possible ways in order to achieve a qualitative leap in the performance of the institutional bodies of the business sector and the private sector in general during the next phase. The most important of these is the report on the follow-up and implementation of the resolutions and recommendations of the 98th Board meeting and the final account for 2018, in addition to the amendments to the structures and work regulations of the Council, which helps to enhance its role in serving the business sector and meet the aspirations of Vision 2030.
Dr. Al Obaidy praised in his speech, the idea of investment forums led by the chambers of commerce in cooperation with the relevant government agencies and their positive impact in supporting the regional development and highlighting the investment opportunities and their comparative advantages of each region in order to support the economic diversification and achieve the vision of 2030. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Trade and Investment and the resulting institutional and economic mobility in the Council and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Kingdom.
