President of Qatar Chamber Discusses Ways to Enhance Cooperation with Oman

Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani, the President of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry said: "the trade exchange between Qatar and Oman has witnessed strong growth in the last three years, starting from 2 billion riyals in 2016, up to 3.8 billion riyals in 2017 to reach a record level of 6.8 billion riyals (1.8 billion dollars), an unprecedented growth of 240% in two years".

The words of Sheikh Khalifa Al-Thani's came during his meeting at the Chamber's headquarters, with an Omani delegation consisted of Mohsen bin Khamis Al Balushi, the Advisor of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Oman Center for Exhibitions and Conferences, and Qais Bin Mohammed Al Yousuf, the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the accompanying trade delegation, where they discussed ways to enhance the bilateral cooperation in the economic and trade fields.

Sheikh Khalifa added that "the number of Omani-Qatari companies operating in the Qatari market has reached more than 350 companies in several sectors such as services, energy, industry and others, while most of the Qatari investments in Oman are distributed in more than 200 Omani companies operating in many sectors".

He also pointed out that according to the certificates of origin issued by Qatar Chamber, the Sultanate of Oman was at the top of the receiving countries of non-oil exports in the last year.
