The Assets of SAMA Reaches $496 Billion

The value of the assets of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (central bank) in January, about 1.87 trillion riyals (496 billion dollars), registering a decrease of 33.5 billion riyals (8.9 billion dollars), compared with last December.

According to data issued by SAMA, its assets declined by SAR 38 billion ($10.1 billion) in January 2018, while its investments in securities abroad, which accounted for about 64 percent declined so that its total assets reached 1.197 trillion riyals ($319 billion) at the end of January, with a decrease of 2 per cent.

According to the statistics, January recorded the highest circulation rates of the coin, with the amount of coins traded at 213.9 million riyals ($57 million), which comes after the issuance of new coins in Saudi Arabia, which includes seven categories ranging from 1 to 200 Halalah.

The volume of real estate mortgages from commercial banks reached 240.2 billion riyals (64 billion dollars) during the fourth quarter of last year 2018. Its sum was divided as 98.8 billion riyals ($26.3 billion) provided to companies and 141.3 billion riyals ($37.6 billion) granted to individuals.
