The monthly statement showed that the Central Bank of Kuwait's assets declined by 0.7 percent on a monthly basis during the month of January, recording 10.862 billion dinars, or 35.8 billion dollars last month, compared with 10.788 billion dinars, or 35.57 billion dollars, during the month of December 2018.
The central bank’s asset items, (including cash accounts, bonds, certificates of deposit, treasury bills, and deposits in foreign currency), accounted KWD10.667 billion, compared with KWD10.542 billion representing an increase of 1.2%. Other assets fell 23.5 percent to KD 163.3 million, from KD 213.6 million in the previous month.
According to the data issued by the Kuwait Central Bank, the value of accounts and deposits of local banks at the Central Bank about 3.993 billion dinars, while the central bank's bills amounted to about 1.85 billion dinars during the last month.
