The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Oman (OCCI) celebrated the 45th anniversary of its establishment under the patronage of His Highness Shehab bin Tariq bin Taymor Al Said, advisor to the Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said.
The ceremony is a culmination of the efforts exerted by the Chamber over the past years to develop Oman's private sector and make it a key partner in the economic and sustainable development. The Chamber is the official representative of the Omani private sector domestically and internationally and is considered as its effective tool to participate in making all decisions of interest to the sector. The chamber is keen to support and develop the private sector through the available tools and programs to push the economic development process in the Sultanate.
H.E Qais Mohammed Moosa Al Yousuf, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Chamber of Commerce & Industry said in his speech during the ceremony that "the Chamber, which celebrates 45 years of its establishment, plays an important role in the economic life. This role has been developed in terms of size and quality in light of the economic developments that took place in the world, in addition to the growth of the business sectors represented by the Chamber, and the growing importance in the structure of the national economy, and then the expansion of its role from just defending the interests of the business sectors to the contribution in the supporting, developing and defending them in multiple ways to achieve its objectives and expand its relations”.
