Ali Sharif Al Emadi, Qatar's Finance Minister revealed that the private sector in Qatar is growing by about 6 percent in 2018 despite the volatile oil prices.

"The Qatari economy witnessed an exit last year (2017) but the year 2018 was a good year and most of the growth came from the private sector," Al-Emadi said during a speech at the opening of the “Doha 2018 Forum”.

The Qatari Minister of Finance discussed the ways in which this growth has been achieved. Most notably, the energy which plays a key role in providing a sustainable economy, stressing that 40% of energy exports have found their way into emerging markets.

Qatari public sector institutions, which include its sovereign wealth fund, have pumped more than $ 40 billion into Qatari banks in the first months following the diplomatic row with Saudi Arabia and its allies to help the banking sector cope with the impact of money outflows.
