A Delegation from UAC meets with President Dabbousi

A delegation from the Union of Arab Chambers, headed by President Mohamad Abdo Saeed, accompanied by Secretary General Dr. Khalid Hanafi, and Assistant Secretary General Shaheen Ali Shaheen, visited the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Tripoli and North Lebanon, where they met the president of the chamber, Toufic Dabbousi, and the general manager, Linda Sultan.
President Dabbousi welcomed the delegation of the Union of Arab Chambers and thanked the union for its continuous follow-up to the Tripoli Chamber's march towards the development and modernization of the business community in Lebanon, and its observation of Tripoli and North Lebanon as a pioneering model for the development of the Arab business community. Through a project basket that is the first in Lebanon, including the Sustainable Development Building, the Knowledge Economy Center and the Industrial Development and Food Research Center, which were launched under the patronage of Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Hariri.
"We are not governments but we support our governments and we are looking for projects that are achievable and successful. We are fully confident that we are doing exemplary work in Lebanon from Tripoli which could be generalized at various Lebanese, Arab and international levels. We aim at positivity through all of our activities and projects and look forward to enhancing our expertise, capabilities, and knowledge in order to build communities where jobs are available for our young generations."
After that, President Dabbousi and the delegation toured the various projects of the chamber and were briefed about the chamber's incubator progress and its future aspirations. The delegation as well toured quality control laboratories where they listened to the explanations of the laboratory director, Dr. Khalid Al-Omari, who shed the light on the Center for Industrial Development and Food Research, which hosts a basket of specialized centers, the first of its kind in Lebanon, such as olive oil tasting center, honey collection center and fruit and vegetable drying center. The delegation was also briefed on other centers and projects hosted by the chamber."
For his part, Mohamad Abdo Saeed, President of the Union of Arab Chambers praised the work of the Chamber of Commerce of Tripoli and North Lebanon through implementing multidisciplinary projects that makes it a pioneering model in the Arab business community. "We are preparing for an agreement with President Dabbousi to establish a conference and forum for Arab investment in Tripoli, because Tripoli deserves a lot more."
He added: "we congratulate President Daboussi on accomplishing projects that do not exist in any other chamber of commerce, and we thank him for the unprecedented initiative that makes Tripoli the economic capital of Lebanon, which we had the honor to receive a copy of."
President Dabbousi and the delegation of the Union of Arab Chambers paid a field visit to the port of Tripoli to learn about its dynamic role in the development of the national economy through the major Lebanese, Arab and international shipping companies which started to come to this vital economic artery. This port makes Tripoli a national, Arab, and international platform for the reconstruction of neighboring countries.
