The United Arab Emirates ranked the first in the index of the World Economic Freedom Index 2018, released annually by the Canadian-based “Fraser Institute”, recording 7.50 points out of a total of 10 points, ranking 37th in the world and maintaining its position in category 1, the freer countries in the world.
According to the report, the UAE remains top of the region in all components of the index, in addition to that, it also advanced developed economies such as Japan ranking 41th in the world, Belgium ranking 52nd, Italy 54th and France 57th Globally.
The top five places did not change from last year, with Hong Kong (8.97) which maintained its 1st position, Singapore (8.84), New Zealand (8.49), Switzerland (8.39) and Ireland (8.07) respectively.
