Egypt's Non-Petroleum exports rose by 14 percent

Amr Nasr, Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, pointed out that Egypt’s Non-Oil exports during the first seven months of 2018 rose by 14.3 percent y.o.y to reach 14.89 billion dollars, higher from 13.25 billion dollars a year ago.
Imports rose as well by 15.28 percent to reach $38.15 billion in 2018, higher from $33.97 billion a year ago. Foreign trade exchanges of non-oil products increased by 15 percent, accounting for $53.048 billion.
The report issued by the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, showed that Non-Oil exports rose by 12 percent in 2017, accounting for $20.5 billion, showing that the volume of trade exchanges between Egypt and the United States increased by 29.2 percent, accounting for 3.8 billion of dollars, while trade with African countries (Arab countries excluded), rose by 24.8 percent, accounting for 1.4 billion of dollars. On the other side, trade exchanges between Egypt and the Arab countries increased by 11.8 percent and accounted for 7.9 billion of dollars, while trade exchanges between Egypt and the European Union, increased by 5.2 percent and accounted for 16.2 billion of dollars.
