Sharjah Chamber Discusses Prospects for Economic Cooperation with India

Mr. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), met with the delegation of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers, headed by Mr. Sadahkar Shetty, Chairman of this Federation, to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade relations between Sharjah and Karnataka.
During their meeting, they elaborated on the prospects of economic cooperation between the Chamber and the Federation, in ways that serves the interests of both parties and enable the private sector in both countries to benefit from the available investment opportunities. They also discussed the participation of the Sharjah Chamber at the “ASIAN PLUS Conference of Trade Networks”, planned for the first quarter of 2019 in Bangalore, capital of Karnataka.
Al Owais pointed out “the importance of the relations between UAE and India and the remarkable development they are witnessing in various fields, especially in economic, commercial, technical and other fields, stressing on “Sharjah's keenness to consolidate these relations and push them towards wider horizons.”
For his part, Shetty emphasized the strong relations that exist between India and UAE in general, and between Karnataka and Sharjah in particular, praising the comprehensive development process witnessed by Sharjah, its achievement in economic development and role as an active economic center in the region, and as a facilitator for Indian businessmen.
