The price growth rate in Algeria was 4.8 percent on an annual basis, according to the data released by the National Statistics Bureau. The Crude Index which represents the monthly development of the price index, fell by 1.9 percent between June and July 2018.
Food prices declined by 4.5 percent between June and July 2018, mainly due to a decline in prices of fresh agricultural products (8.7%), especially fruits (-8.38%) and vegetables (-5.12%).
On the other hand, a significant rise in poultry prices was recorded (+3.9%). Whereas a slight rose in prices was recorded in industrial food (+1.0%), manufactured materials (0.5%), and services (0.1%).
