The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount-Lebanon hosted the Lebanese-Russian Business Forum, organized by the Lebanese-Russian Business Council in cooperation with the Beirut and Mount-Lebanon Chamber, with the participation of Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Raed Khoury, Minister of Tourism Owadis Kidanian, Head of the Russian Delegation Alexei Abramov, Russian Ambassador Alexander Zaspikin, Chairman of the Russian-Lebanese Business Council Alexander Gogoliev, and a group of associations heads, trade unions, economic unions, the Russian delegation and businessmen.
"Despite the obstacles, especially the sanctions imposed on Russia, the economic relations between our two countries are witnessing remarkable progress, thanks to determination, of my Government and the private sector of both countries," said Mohammed Choucair, president of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers and Head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount-Lebanon, during a speech at the opening ceremony.
Choucair called for "Russian companies to participate in the coming tenders that will help in the implementation of infrastructure projects, and we encourage in this framework to establish alliances between Lebanese and Russian companies to take advantage of the differential advantages of each to enter these tenders," stressing that "we are still at the beginning of the road, many opportunities to work on them jointly, but in any case as long as there are men who believe and work to develop our binary economic relations, I am confident that these relations will take important steps forward in the near future. "
