Union of Arab Chambers, Secretary General Dr. Khalid Hanafi and the Assistant Secretary-General Mr. Shaheen Ali Shaheen, visited the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Beirut, where they met with HE Dr. Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon.
The Secretary-General and the Assistant Secretary-General congratulated the Ambassador on the 46th National Day of the United Arab Emirates and they hoped that this glorious occasion under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will bring more security, stability, development, prosperity to the United Arab Emirates.
The Secretary General Dr. Khalid Hanafi briefed during the meeting, the UAE Ambassador, Dr. Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi on the framework of UAC and its role and activities in enhancing the role of the Arab private sector.
Dr. Khaled Hanafi said, “Considering that the permanent headquarters of the Union is Beirut, it is keen to communicate permanently with all diplomatic missions operating in Lebanon, especially the heads of Arab diplomatic missions, in order to coordinate on issues related to mutual interest, which serves the objectives of cooperation and joint Arab action.”
The Secretary General affirmed that, "the Union is getting ready in the next phase to organize many activities in a number of Arab countries, and therefore we are very much concerned to coordinate with the heads of diplomatic missions in Lebanon the headquarters country of the UAC to make these events successful."
On his behalf, the UAE Ambassador in Lebanon, HE Dr. Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi, welcomed both the Secretary General and the Assistant Secretary-General, thanking their visit and pointing out that, "the relationship between the UAE Embassy in Lebanon and the Union of Arab Chambers is excellent, and that the embassy is keen to cooperate with the Union to provide all the support it needs in order to help it to play its role and facilitate its work within the UAE."
