World's Largest Sovereign Wealth Fund to Generate Returns of $222 Billion in 2024

Norway's state pension fund, created to protect future generations based on the country's oil wealth and one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, generated a return equivalent to about $222 billion in 2024. According to the Norwegian Central Bank, which cues the sovereign wealth fund through its investment management arm, the government pension fund generated about 2.51 trillion Norwegian crowns, an increase of 13 percent. At the end of the year, the fund was worth about 19.74 trillion crowns. The fund achieved very good returns in 2024, as a result of a very strong stock market, with US technology stocks, in particular, performing very impressively.
