Oil prices recovered, as supply concerns persisted after Washington imposed two packages of sanctions on Russia's energy sector over the past two weeks over the war in Ukraine.
Brent crude futures rose 34 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $81.13 a barrel, after closing down 0.62 percent in the previous session.
West Texas Intermediate crude futures, which expire on Tuesday, rose 59 cents, or 0.8 percent, after falling 1.02 percent at settlement on Friday. The most active contracts for April rose 36 cents to $77.75 a barrel.
