Dubai maintained its regional lead in the Global Cities Power 2024 index issued by the Institute of Urban Strategy at the Mori Memorial Foundation of Japan. While it ranked eighth globally, becoming the first city from the Middle East to enter the top ten list.
According to the index, Dubai has succeeded in maintaining its position among the top 10 cities globally for the second year in a row. The index included another Arab city besides Dubai, Cairo, which ranked 46th globally.
The Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, stressed that the strength of cities is not measured by their size or population, but by their vision, ambition and ability to provide an inspiring model to the world."
