Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, ranked first globally with 22,700 millionaires, with the UAE capital emerging as a major hub for millionaires, supported by its large oil and gas reserves and the presence of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world. The city's wealth is expected to increase further as ADGM grows as a global hub for family offices, according to a list compiled by CEO World.
Athens came in second place after a crisis more than a decade ago that nearly ravaged Greece's economy, attracting some 22,600 millionaires. In third place, Lisbon has 21,800 millionaires, and Riyadh hosts 18,200 millionaires. Jeddah ranked 12th globally among emerging global hubs as high net worth individuals.
