The International Air Transport Association (IATA) revealed that the total demand for global travel in February 2024 increased by 21.5 percent, compared to the same period last year.
The data showed that total capacity, measured in available seats per kilometer, rose 18.7 percent year-on-year. The load factor for February stood at 80.6 percent, recording an increase of 1.9 percentage points compared to February 2023. February 2024 was a leap year, one additional day compared to February 2023, leading to a slight increase in demand and capacity growth towards positive ranges.
