7% of Libya's Foreign Trade Drops To $27 Billion

Total merchandise trade in Libya during the first half of this year amounted to $ 27 billion, recording a decrease of 7.1 percent compared to the same period last year. The amount of change in the trade balance (minus 25 percent) in the first six months of this year, compared to the same period in 2022.

According to the Central Bank of Libya, the value of merchandise exports reached $ 17.3 billion during the first half of the year, and it was $ 19.6 billion during the same period last year, a decrease of 12 percent.

The total imports amounted to 19 billion and 982 million dollars, and Turkey topped the list with imports worth one billion and 409 million dollars, followed by China in second place with about one billion and 265 million dollars. The UAE came in third place, with imports worth one billion dollars and 66 million dollars.
