The Eurozone recorded a slight economic recovery in the second quarter of the year, but it still suffers from persistent problems in Germany, according to preliminary estimates issued by the "Eurostat" institute. The growth rate remains well below the 2 percent target set by the European Central Bank.

The gross domestic product of the twenty countries that share the single currency improved by 0.3 percent between April and June at a quarterly pace, after it stagnated at a level of 0 percent during the first quarter, according to revised figures published by the institute.

As for the annual inflation rate, it continued its decline in July, reaching 5.3 percent, after recording 5.5 percent in June and 6.1 percent in May, benefiting from the decline in energy prices.
