"The government will work to restore positive growth rates, starting next year, through a package of measures for the benefit of the public and private sectors, which will be approved in the Finance Law for the year 2021," Tunisian Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi affirmed.

In a session of granting confidence to the government, Al- Mechichi promised to find solutions to the energy crisis and solve the problems of the phosphate sector, through the economic and social integration of the governorates that are witnessing continuous social protests that caused the activity of vital energy facilities in southern Tunisia to be suspended.

He revealed an economic and social program for the government, submitted for approval, that includes 5 basis points aimed at revitalizing the economy and production engines in the public and private sectors to ensure the return of growth and the creation of new jobs.

Al-Mechichi assured that "Tunisia will enter, after the government has gained confidence, into negotiations with its financial partners, in order to mobilize the necessary resources for the budget and to provide for investment and management expenditures," noting that "Tunisia will, starting next year, rely on its own resources after the public debt reaches record levels of 80 billion dinars," stressing that "the Finance Law for the year 2021 will include new tax procedures that allow the provision of additional income resources for the state without new tax pressure on individuals and institutions operating in the organized sector."
