Within the framework of the Arab Program for Sustainable Food Security, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers, the Union of Arab Banks, and Green Hub & EGYZONE, is organizing the Agricultural and Food Security Forum and Exhibition under the umbrella of the Arab Program for Sustainable Food Security. Titled "Arab-European Partnership in Food Security" in Cairo during the period 02-04 February 2025.

 

The similarities and challenges between the Arab and European agricultural sectors constitute a strong starting point for an effective partnership. The agricultural sector in Europe in general enjoys many advantages that make it important and attractive to investors, as it has a long agricultural heritage that has contributed to the development of advanced agricultural technologies and possesses the necessary expertise to achieve productivity and quality.

 

Europe also has the necessary infrastructure to support agriculture, modern technology, and advanced agricultural equipment. The European internal market also provides opportunities for marketing agricultural products, in addition to the potential for export to global markets. It also has great potential to meet the demand for organic products due to the fertile nature of the soil and the growing interest in sustainable agricultural practices.

 

The Arab countries and Europe share a common interest in enhancing the ability to produce food and achieve food security for citizens. However, Arab-European cooperation in the field of agriculture contributes to enhancing joint Arab-European food security. This cooperation is represented in several areas, including:

- Exchange of expertise and technology in areas such as crop cultivation, agricultural water management, and the use of modern technologies in agriculture.

- Trade cooperation in the field of agricultural equipment and technology.

- Organizing joint training programs for farmers and researchers in the field of agriculture and exchanging scientific and technical expertise through scientific visits and seminars.

- Developing joint investments in the field of agriculture and food processing and attracting funding for them.

- Enhancing trade in agricultural products.

- Enhancing cooperation in the field of agricultural research and development, leading to the development of more sustainable technologies and practices in the field of agriculture.

 

Objectives of the Forum and Exhibition:

The forum constitutes a platform for formulating and concluding many understandings to enhance integration between the Arab public and private sectors in the fields of food security. It also aims to:

1. Enhancing international cooperation: highlighting the opportunities and challenges facing Arab countries in the field of food security and how the private sector can contribute to achieving it through its investments and efforts in sustainability, innovation, and cooperation with global partners.

2. Exchange of expertise and technology: Cooperation in areas such as crop cultivation, agricultural water management, and the use of modern technologies in agriculture.

3. Strengthening investment partnerships: Developing joint investments in the field of agriculture and food processing and attracting funding for them.

4. Developing human capabilities: Organizing joint training programs for farmers and technical researchers in the field of agriculture, as well as exchanging scientific expertise through scientific visits and seminars.

The exhibition will also be held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center and will include modern agricultural machinery and equipment manufactured in Europe and the Arab world, with the aim of introducing the latest technologies and machinery and highlighting the latest innovations in the agricultural field.
