Agreements Between Washington and Riyadh Worth $270 Billion

The visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the United States witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two sides worth nearly $270 billion. These included a strategic defense agreement, a strategic partnership for artificial intelligence, and a joint declaration marking the completion of negotiations on cooperation in the field of civilian nuclear energy.

The agreements also included signing the strategic framework for cooperation in securing supplies of uranium, minerals, permanent magnets, and critical minerals; the strategic framework for facilitating procedures to accelerate Saudi investments; financial and economic partnership arrangements; arrangements related to cooperation in the financial markets sector; mutual recognition of U.S. federal vehicle safety standards; in addition to a memorandum of understanding in the field of education and training.
