All eyes are on Beijing as the Chinese Communist Party convenes meetings that will shape the country’s trajectory for the next five years. The sessions are taking place amid escalating trade tensions with Washington and mounting domestic challenges. This is the fourth plenary session of the Central Committee—known as the “Fourth Plenum”—one of China’s most significant political events for outlining future policies.

The closed-door meeting, lasting four days, aims to finalize China’s new five-year plan for the 2026–2030 period, serving as an economic and political roadmap that sets priorities for the world’s second-largest economy in the years ahead.

The full details of the plan are expected to be announced during the annual session of the National People’s Congress in March.
