The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, stated that “the global economy has proven more resilient than expected despite the severe pressures caused by multiple shocks, and a slight slowdown in global growth is expected this year and in 2026.”
In a review of the upcoming IMF report on “World Economic Outlook,” Georgieva predicted that global growth will slow only marginally this year and next. She emphasized that all indicators suggest the global economy has generally withstood the severe pressures caused by successive shocks.
In July, the IMF raised its global growth forecast by 0.2 percentage points to reach 3 percent for 2025, and by 0.1 percentage points to 3.1 percent for 2026.
