The American website Politico revealed a White House memo showing that the United States will lose $15 billion every week from the shutdown.
In the memo, President Donald Trump’s economic advisors warn that a prolonged shutdown could lead to dire economic consequences.
The Council of Economic Advisers warned in the memo that the United States could lose $15 billion of its GDP weekly if the shutdown continues for a month, which would increase the number of unemployed people by 43,000. This damage does not include 1.9 million temporarily furloughed or unpaid federal civilian employees, 80 percent of whom live in the Washington area.
