Germany’s inflation rate in September reached its highest level this year, recording 2.4 percent, according to data from the Federal Statistical Office. Inflation had already risen in August for the first time this year, with consumer prices climbing by 2.2 percent compared to the same month last year.
Consumers were forced to pay higher amounts for many services such as travel and dining out, as service providers passed increased labor costs onto their prices.
According to the Federal Statistical Office, consumer prices rose from August to September this year by a total of 0.2 percent.
