Oil prices rose on Monday, supported by geopolitical tensions in Europe and the Middle East. However, concerns about increased oil supply and the impact of tariffs on global fuel demand capped gains.

Brent crude futures increased by 28 cents, or 0.42 percent, to $66.96 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 20 cents, or 0.32 percent, to $62.88 a barrel.

Reports over the weekend about Russian threats near the Polish border weighed on traders’ continued concerns about European energy security from the northeast.
