Saudi Arabia's commodity exports fell by about 14 percent in May (year-on-year), driven by a notable drop in oil exports.
According to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics, the value of Saudi oil exports declined by 21.8 percent in May compared to the same period last year. In contrast, non-oil exports recorded a growth of 6.0 percent during the same period.
Meanwhile, Saudi imports rose by 7.8 percent year-on-year in May, contributing to a 68.4 percent decrease in the trade balance surplus.
