Jordan: Annual Inflation Records 1.98 Percent

Jordan's annual inflation rate rose by 1.98 percent in May compared to the same month in 2024. It also rose by 0.21 percent month-on-month compared to April 2025, according to data released Wednesday by the government's Department of Statistics. The data also showed a 1.97 percent increase for the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

Comparing the cumulative consumer price index (inflation) for the first five months of 2025 with the same period in 2024, the index for the personal effects group rose by 19.44 percent, tobacco and cigarettes by 12.62 percent, fruits and nuts by 7.77 percent, tea, coffee, and cocoa by 6.73 percent, and spices, food additives, and other foods by 5.41 percent.
