Morocco's High Commission for Planning revealed that annual inflation fell to 2.4 percent in 2024 from 6.1 percent in 2023 and 6.6 percent in 2022. Food prices, Morocco's main driver of inflation, rose 0.8 percent, and non-food items 1.2 percent.
Bank Al-Maghrib had forecast inflation to average 1 percent in 2024 before rising 2.4 percent in 2025. He also predicted that the economy would grow 2.4 percent last year, down from 3.4 percent in 2023. Assuming the non-farm sector improves and cereal yields reach five million tons, growth will rise to 5.7 percent in 2025.
