The Union of Arab Chambers participates in the First Arab Conference for the Development of Agricultural Exports Within the framework of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area

The Union of Arab Chambers participated in the activities of the First Arab Conference for the Development of Agricultural Exports, which was held under the slogan "Promoting Agricultural Trade within the Framework of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area", in Cairo - Arab Republic of Egypt, on December 1, 2024, at the Semiramis Hotel, Blue Nile Hall.

The conference is a pivotal platform to enhance regional cooperation in the agricultural sector, with the participation of a group of officials, experts, representatives of the private sector and regional and international institutions.

At the opening session, speeches were made by: H.E. Eng. Abu Bakr Al-Bishr, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of the Sudan. Professor Ibrahim Al-Dakhir, President of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development. Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Malki, Head of Economic Affairs Sector.

The representative of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dina Al-Waqqad, presented a paper entitled: "The development of agricultural exports within the framework of the advantages granted to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area", as part of the work of the third session held at the conference under the title: "The role of the supply chain in increasing Arab agricultural exports".

The paper aimed to analyze the available strategies and advantages that Arab countries can benefit from to achieve sustainable growth in their agricultural exports within this framework.

The conference witnessed fruitful discussions focused on ways of cooperation between Arab countries to promote agricultural exports through infrastructure development, improving supply chains, and benefiting from the advantages offered by the Greater Arab Free Trade Area. The conference concluded with the development of practical recommendations that contribute to the removal of obstacles facing intra-regional agricultural trade, thus opening new horizons for regional cooperation and sustainable development.
