Germany's labor market stagnated in the third quarter of this year, according to official data, pointing to more bad news for the struggling economy.

The Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden announced that the number of people employed in Germany from July to September 2024 was 46.1 million, an increase of only 23,000 employees compared to the second quarter.

After accounting for seasonal impacts, Germany's workforce fell by 45,000, or 0.1%. There has been no such decline since the beginning of 2021.
