The President of the Tunisian Union of Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts, Samir Majoul, received the presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers for a two-year term, succeeding President Samir Abdullah Nass, President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during the work of the 135th session of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Chambers, which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, at the kind invitation of the Qatar Chamber, and under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, and the participation of heads of chambers, members of the Board of Directors, federations of chambers and the League of Arab States.

During the activities of the renewal council, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, for a new term.

The Council noted the prominent role played by the Secretary General of the Union during his tenure, as he was able to achieve a qualitative leap that contributed to strengthening the role of the Union at the Arab and international levels. The Council affirmed support for the Secretary-General's career in his continuous efforts.

The members of the new Executive Committee of the Union were also elected for a period of two years, consisting of His Excellency President Samir Majoul, Vice President Hussein bin Mojeb Al-Huwaizi, President of the Union of Saudi Chambers, Vice President His Excellency Mohamed Choucair, President of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers, and the Secretary of Finance, President Ahmed Al-Wakeel, President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, while the Executive Committee included the membership of President Khalil Haj Tawfiq, President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, President Faisal Al-Rawas, President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and President Hussein Aliwi, President of the University of Moroccan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services.

The new President of the Union, Samir Majoul, spoke at the opening of the work of the 135th session of the Board of Directors of the Union, saying: With great pride and pride, I am honored and pleased to chair this meeting for the first time in my capacity as President of the Union of Arab Chambers, wishing to be at the level of your dear confidence and the amount of aspirations and hopes, and to succeed with the praise of God and His help, and with the help of my colleagues in carrying out the role entrusted to me in the best way to complete the march started by the founders and completed by the dear brothers over the past decades and years, the last of whom was dear brother Samir Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been able to lead the march with dedication and sincerity over the past two years.

President Samir Majul reviewed the agenda of this session, which includes "procedural", "strategic" and "events" items. He wished the work of the Council of our Union success in order to achieve Arab economic integration and raise the status of the private sector and the role of the private sector and Arab chambers in Arab economic life.

HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani stressed in his speech the importance of developing and strengthening cooperation between business sectors in the Arab world, activating the role of the Arab private sector and improving its performance, in a way that benefits the economies of our countries and pushes forward Arab economic integration efforts.

He pointed out that our Arab region enjoys huge potential, many wealth, diverse natural resources and advanced human potential, which qualifies it to occupy a prominent position on the map of the global economy, pointing out that the tireless efforts to benefit from these resources and employ them to achieve Arab economic integration, achieve sustainable development and fight poverty and unemployment, will bear fruit through flexible economic policies in which the private sector plays a leading role.

He added that achieving this requires the Arab private sector to play its hoped-for role in the development process, in accordance with more flexible and effective economic policies, and through more coordination and cooperation between chambers of commerce and industry in the Arab countries.  

The Chairman of Qatar Chamber, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, pointed out that the agenda and files of this session include many important procedural and strategic topics, but the strategic items are of great importance, as they are related to regional and international variables and challenges of great precision, and their impact on the Arab economy is great and needs us to a lot of caution and caution and also cooperation among us to implement the recommendations of the studies in our hands.

For his part, Samir Abdullah Nass, President of the Bahrain Chamber and former President of the Union of Arab Chambers, highly appreciated the patronage and attendance of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar, at the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Chambers, and delivered an orientation speech, which enriches and enriches the discussions of the work of our esteemed Council. It affirms the State of Qatar's great support for the role of the private sector in the advancement of development and economic development.

He stressed that it is my pride to hand over today the presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers, to my dear brother, Mr. Samir Majoul, President of the Tunisian Union of Trade, Industry and Handicrafts. I wish him all success in his mission, and I am sure that with his experience and high efficiency, he will be able to lead the Union's march towards further development for the good of the Arab Chambers and the private sector at the Arab and international levels. He hoped that this session would be another new station on the road to strengthening the role of the Union in the process of development, development and growth of the Arab economy.

The speech of the Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Maliki, stressed in his speech that the Arab countries paid great attention to the Arab private sector because it is a pillar of growth and economic and social development because of its important and essential role, especially within the framework of efforts made at the collective level for the sustainable development of the peoples of the Arab countries, as well as to develop economic performance in light of the current regional and international crises and changes, and stressed the importance of the role of the private sector in encouraging joint Arab action, and called for doing more It is an effort to support the process of economic development, not only through the need for its active participation in the implementation of national and Arab economic infrastructure projects, but its role extends to achieving an economic surplus from the standpoint of mutual benefit and rebuilding capital in its broad sense.
