Moody's has predicted that the volume of global sukuk issuances in 2024 will reach between $200 billion and $210 billion, surpassing the total volume of issuances in 2023, which was below $200 billion.

This activity was supported by strong sovereign issuance in the Gulf Cooperation Council and Southeast Asia, and in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia in particular. Moody's expects second-half issues to fall to between $80 billion and $90 billion but will remain strong in the Gulf as governments in the region continue to pursue strategies to diversify their economy away from oil.
