The Australian government has approved a plan to build the country's largest solar power plant in the north of the country. This massive solar farm will generate enough electricity to power three million homes.
Environment Minister Tanja Plibersek pointed out that the project includes solar panels and batteries, and at a later stage, it will be connected by a cable to Singapore to export energy to it. She considered that "this station will be the largest solar energy area in the world, which will make Australia a world leader in the field of green energy."
The project will provide four gigawatt hours for residential use, and two gigawatt hours for export to Singapore via a submarine cable.
