Oil prices rose more than a dollar on Tuesday, recovering the previous day's losses, as fears that a worsening Middle East conflict on supplies overshadowed concerns about a possible U.S. recession that could hurt demand in the world's largest oil consumer.
Brent rose $1.25, or 1.6 percent, to $77.55 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose $1.35, or 1.9 percent, to $74.29. On Monday, the prices of the two benchmarks fell about 1 percent on the back of a fall in global stock markets.
