Morocco's Inflation Increases by 0.4 percent

The High Commission for Planning revealed that the inflation rate in the first five months of this year increased by 0.4 percent, after reaching 7.1 percent in the same period last year.

The report shows that the inflation rate, which saw its pace rise sharply in May, was due to the increase in the prices of non-food commodities by 1.7 percent, and the decline in food prices by 1.2 percent. The high level of inflation in the same period last year was due to the increase in the prices of food commodities by 15.6 percent, and the prices of non-food commodities by 1.4 percent.
