Turkey's e-commerce sector more than doubled last year to 1.85 trillion Turkish liras ($57.47 billion), according to official figures from the Turkish Trade Ministry.

The statistics reflect a significant increase of 115.15 percent over 2022, reflecting consumers' continued preference for online shopping, which increased during the Corona pandemic.

The ratio of e-commerce volume to total general trade jumped from 10.1 percent in 2019 to 20.3 percent in 2023, and e-commerce accounted for a 6.8 percent share of GDP.
